Heather Richter Lipford is an alumnae of the CSE department and is
speaking for CAS's Social Media Seminar Series. She is currently an
associate professor of Computer Science at the University of North
Carolina Charlotte. She studies usable security and privacy, with a
recent emphasis on how people manage their privacy on Facebook. She is
giving a talk Thursday (tomorrow) in our Engineering's Dean's conference
room (3405 EB) at 4:00 PM. There will be coffee and pastries available
15 minutes before the talk. Heather Lipford's
Bio: Dr. Heather Richter Lipford is an Associate Professor at the
University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She completed her Ph.D. from
the College of Computing at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Her
research interests include Human-Computer Interaction, usable privacy
and security, and social computing. Her current projects focus on
privacy management on social network sites and mobile platforms,
interactive support for secure programming, and participation in online
communities. She is co-directing the HCI Lab and is a member of the UNCC
Cyber Defense and Network Assurability Center, the Charlotte
Visualization Center and the UNCC Cognitive Science Academy.
