Apply now for the Specialization in Game Design and Development!
The specialization brings together students in Telecommunication,
Information Studies and Media, Computer Science, and Studio Art. The
specialization complements the breadth and depth of knowledge students
acquire in their majors with a multidisciplinary understanding of game
design and development. For most majors outside of TC, the
specialization often nearly fulfills the student's cognate requirements.
Through the Game Specialization courses, students will learn the
technology, design fundamentals, and development process of digital
games, as well as the history, social impacts, and business of games.
Students will also gain valuable skills in communicating and
collaborating in team-based projects while building a strong portfolio
of games.
The specialization contains four courses, taken in sequence, totaling 12
credits, usually taken during your junior and senior years, including:
TC 445 Digital Game Design & Development I (Fall offering, 3 credits)
TC 455 Digital Game Design & Development II (Spring offering, 3 credits)
TC 497 Game Design Studio (Fall offering, 3 credits)
TC 498 Collaborative Game Design (Spring offering, 3 credits)
Through these courses, you learn the technology, design fundamentals,
and development process of digital games, as well as the history, social
impacts, and business of games. You also gain valuable skills in
communicating and collaborating in team-based projects while building a
strong portfolio of games.
Complete details on the specialization, including how to apply, are
available at http://gamedesign.msu.edu <http://gamedesign.msu.edu/>.
We will review applications between now and the end of March, 2012 for
students wishing to begin the specialization in Fall 2012 semester.
Apply now!
