Academic Tutor Position

Student-Athlete Support Services is hiring Academic Tutors for Spring 2014.

Prospective employees must have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA.

Tutors will be assigned tutorial sessions based on the courses that they 
have taken at MSU; tutors must have received a 3.0 or better in the 
course in order to tutor it.

Two evenings each week between 6:30-9:30 pm are required; your schedule 
and the number of hours you work will be set based upon your 
availability.  Most tutoring takes place between 8:00am-2:00pm Monday 
through Friday, and 6:30-9:30pm Monday through Thursday.

Responsibilities include meeting with student-athletes at least 1-2 
times weekly, facilitating independent learning and fostering effective 
study habits, and having knowledge of course content.

Other duties include attending required orientation and training 
sessions, and communicating regularly with SASS staff.  Prospective 
tutors must have excellent communication and organization skills.



Pay rate = based upon degree completion
