Call for PhD CIFRE application on Curiosity and intrinsic motivation in an intelligent dialog companion

The thesis is situated at the state of the art in machine learning and artificial systems intelligence.  The project will design and implement a system for intrinsic motivation and curiosity that will allow an intelligent companion to begin to take initiative in learning how to explore its environment including how to ask the human partner for help and information.   The thesis takes place in the context of a partnership between the Robot Cognition Laboratory (INSERM/CNRS – P.F. Dominey), the Flowers laboratory (INRIA – P.-Y. Oudeyer) and the innovation services department of Intrinsic Cloud Temple (J-M Dussoux).  A more detailed description can be found at these links:
