[CSENews] CSE Advising Info for Spring 2015

Welcome (back) to MSU for spring 2015!

I am the academic advisor for computer science and engineering (CSE)
upper-level students (28 or more credits). My office is located in the
Engineering Building, room 3201 (third floor).  Please see the information
below:

Important Dates/Events
Classes begin-Monday, January 12, 2015
Humana Springs Campus Visit- Wednesday, January 14 1:30-3:30 PM, CSE Hallway
Last day to add a class-Friday, January 16 by 8:00 pm
Martin Luther King, Jr. Day-Monday, January 19 (University open, classes
cancelled)
Last day to drop with refund-Friday, February 6 by 8:00 pm
Engineering EXPO-Thursday, February 26, 2:00-5:00 pm
Last day to drop with no grade reported-Wednesday, March 4 by 8:00 pm
Spring Break- Monday, March 9 - Friday, March 13
Design Day- Friday, May 1
Final exams- Monday, May 4 - Friday, May 8
Classes end-Friday, May 8 

Walk-in advising hours
Monday, January 12-Tuesday, January 13 only
9:00 am-12:00 pm
1:30 pm-4:30 pm
Walk-in advising is for quick questions and concerns (i.e. schedule issues,
course suggestions, etc.) and will be no longer than fifteen (15) minutes.  

Advising Appointments
Advising appointments on the Advisors' Calendar will be available starting
January 15th.  You can schedule your appointment at
https://www.egr.msu.edu/adcalendar/.  Being late for your scheduled
appointment is unacceptable and if you are more than 10 minutes late, you
will need to reschedule on the Advisors' Calendar.  If you need to cancel
your appointment, please do so on the Advisors' Calendar so that another
student may schedule an appointment.

E-mails:
Please send e-mails using your MSU e-mail address and include your first and
last name.  Please PROPERLY format all e-mails.

Degree Checks:
If you are graduating this semester, please e-mail me with the subject line
"Degree Check" to make sure you are on track and your Degree Navigator is
updated.

Overrides:
I do not review or approve override requests.  If you would like an
override, you will need to submit your request online at
https://secure.cse.msu.edu/override/.
