Rachel

I received your contact information from Anil Jain and wanted to introduce
myself, I am Tom Weston I work for the State of Michigan as the Director
of Mi.gov. The State of Michigan, local units of government and the
private sector have teamed up to launch the second annual Code Michigan
event, to be held October 3-5 in Detroit, Marquette and Newaygo. Code
Michigan is essentially a "Hackfest" designed to connect civic minded
developers and designers with open data to create amazing apps for
Michigan.

Detroit, Marquette and Newaygo will each award first, second and third
place cash prizes. First place is $5,000; second is $1,500; and third
place is $500. The first place winners from each location will then go on
to compete for the cash grand prize of $10,000 and a 30 minute meeting to
pitch their winning idea to Renaissance Venture Capital Fund.

I am very interested in having MSU students participate in this year's
event, the following link can give you more detail about the event and how
to register.
