Hi there programmers,

Do you feel like algorithms are useful but you have a hard time wrapping
your head around them? Do you just want to show off how much better you
are than everyone else at them?

ACM is introducing *The Speedcoding Society*, a monthly programming
competition where you can compete in teams of 1-3 against your friends,
programming answers to algorithm problems. This is going to be a ton of
fun as well as a great way to improve your algorithmic skills (and
practice for interviews). Plus, there's free food! CSE331 or some
previous algorithm knowledge is highly recommended.

The first competition (the *Spring 2012, March Open*) will be held on
*March 26* *from* *8:30-10:30pm *in the Bone Lab (3203 EB). You can
*register at* icpc.cse.msu.edu <http://icpc.cse.msu.edu> - registration
is mandatory!

Thanks,
Charlie Andrews
ACM Programming Competition Chair
