*Google Tech Talk: How Open Source Projects Survive Poisonous People
(And You Can Too)*
*Thursday, January 20*
*6:30pm, EB 1230*
*Speaker: Brian "Fitz" Fitzpatrick, Engineering Manager, Google Chicago*

Every open source project runs into people who are selfish,
uncooperative, and disrespectful. These people can silently poison
the atmosphere of a happy developer community. Come learn how to
identify these people and peacefully de-fuse them before they derail
your project. Told through a series of (often amusing) real-life
    anecdotes and experiences.

Brian Fitzpatrick started Google's Chicago engineering office in
2005 and now leads several of Google's Chicago engineering efforts,
including Google Code, the Data Liberation Front, and the Google
Affiliate Network. He also serves as internal advisor for Google's
open source efforts. Prior to joining Google, Brian worked as an
engineer at CollabNet, Apple, and a local Chicago development shop.
