Position description: Computer Assistant I

The assistant will help in the laboratory of Dr. Weiming Li in the 
Department of Fisheries and Wildlife with various routine tasks and 
errands. Routine tasks requiring assistance may include:

-         software development;

-         running and monitoring batch bioinformatics analyses;

-         installing software;

-         managing and monitoring servers.

 

Occasional errands may include, for example: purchasing supplies from 
the store; assembling, lifting, and transporting computer equipment.

Requirements: previous training in software development; recent 
programming courses in the Department of Computer Science and 
Engineering will suffice.

Hourly pay range: $7.40 - $8.99

This position is for the Summer of 2009. Hours will be full-time or 
part-time (at least 20 hours per week), depending on availability of the 
assistant.
