<p>This is the final call for the EU funded project 'IM-CLeVeR - Intrinsically
Motivated Cumulative Learning Versatile Robots’/Aberystwyth University<b>
Spring School 2011</b>, to be held at the 2011<b> CapoCaccia Cognitive
Neuromorphic Engineering Workshop<span style='color:#1F497D'> </span>in
Sardinia</b> from<b> 1st to 7th May inclusive</b>. <b>Applications are
due by the 21<sup>st</sup> February - there are only a few places left!</b><o:p></o:p></p>
<p>This year’s themes are <em><span lang=EN style='font-style:normal'>intrinsic
motivation, abstract representations of sensorimotor data, hierarchical
architectures and cumulative learning.</span></em><span lang=EN><o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal>The school is aimed at<b> PhD students and young researchers</b>
in the fields of computer science, robotics, autonomous systems, machine
vision, biologically inspired robotics, machine learning and engineering but is
open to interested students in biology, psychology and neuroscience etc. with a
reasonable background and skills in robotics and programming.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal>It is intended as a platform for work exchange, for meeting
other students and learning from each other by working in small robotic related
research projects of a maximum of five people. The school is a unique
opportunity for students to see their own research from a different angle and
to gain the valuable experience of applying competence and skills in new
domains. <o:p></o:p></p>

<p class=MsoNormal>This year we are running the school in conjunction with the
2011 CapoCaccia<b> Cognitive Neuromorphic Engineering Workshop</b> (<a
href="http://capocaccia.ethz.ch/capo/wiki/2011">http://capocaccia.ethz.ch/capo/wiki/2011</a>
). Students of the school will be registered to the workshop, and will be
able to attend workshop events and talks as well as those of the school.
The main school will run during the first 7 days of the workshop, but we will
provide space and supervision for students wishing to stay until the end on the
14th May so that they may continue working on their school projects. The
school will also host a series of lectures by high-profile researchers,
