CALL FOR CONTRIBUTIONS
====================================
The objective of this full-day workshop is to gather researchers
contributing to the field of infant/robot learning and development.
Workshop will include a number of invited and contributed talks from
robotics and developmental psychology. We welcome paper submissions
on any aspect of infant/robot development and learning.

OBJECTIVES:
====================================
The state-of-the-art robots designed for specific tasks exhibit
abilities that surpass those of human. However, no robot can pass the
motor and cognitive capabilities of a 3 years old child. To create
machines that parallel or even pass the motor and cognitive
capabilities of humans, the Developmental Robotics field was born as
an alternative to previous robot-learning or AI programming
approaches.

The aim of this one-day workshop is two-fold. First, we will remind
ourselves about the promises of the developmental robotics and the
achievements obtained until now. Our speakers from developmental
psychology will also discuss cognitive capabilities of human infants
in different developmental stages and the possible mechanisms of
acquiring these capabilities.

Second, we will motivate our speakers to comment on how different
developmental stages and computational models developed so far can be
combined to achieve a coherent model that explains all different
developmental stages, and how higher-level cognitive competence can
emerge in this developmental progression.


SUBMISSIONS
====================================
We expect submissions in two categories:
* Regular papers  (4-6 pages)
* Extended abstracts (2 pages)

All submissions will be peer reviewed, and accepted papers will be
presented orally in the workshop. Depending on the submission type,
the speakers will be given 15 to 25 minutes for their talk including
QAs.

Accepted papers will be included in the workshop proceedings that
will be distributed as CDs and will be available at the workshop
webpage.

The papers should be prepared according to Humanoids 2012 guidelines
following the standard IEEE conference page layout, and submitted in
PDF by email to emre at atr.jp.
