Hello!
I want to thank everyone who came out to our 'Hollywood Hacking' Techsmith techtalk. It was an extremely entertaining event, and I hope you all enjoyed it. I want to highlight some huge upcoming opportunities for you all to attend this next week:
First of all Thursday January 31st at 7pm in Engineering room 1234 there will be an iOS development techtalk. The talk will cover how to start an iPhone/iPad app and how to utilize the internet's resources to learn the platform and begin your own stellar app! This talk is mostly for those who are new to the platform, but if there is interest, more advanced sessions can be planned.
You can use these new found iOS skills you learn on Thursday to compete in ACM's first annual APPAPALOOZA!!
This Hackathon will take place on Saturday 2nd in Engineering room 1145 from 12:00pm until around 10pm. Food and coffee will be provided.
You can make an app for Windows 8/Windows Phone 8, iOs, or Android, and then show it off at the end to compete for three $100 grand prizes and four $25 runner up prizes. Each grand prize is awarded to the best of each category (Windows, iOS and Android), so there are plenty of chances to win!
Already working on something? Please feel free to bring it, and polish it up! Have an idea, but haven's started yet? Great! Bring your computer and your idea and get started at 12!
Prizes will be given based on:
- Originality of the idea
- Amount accomplished in the time frame
- Your demo
Anyone could win, so please don't be shy, and come on by! See the attached poster for more details!
I hope to see you there!
Best Wishes,
Ryan Tempas
President, ACM
