ACM Members,
Interested in starting your own software company? Or just want to learn
more from a successful software business? We will be hosting a very
exciting talk from Carl Erickson, the President of Atomic Object, on
*Wednesday,
November 30* from* 7 to 8PM* in *1279 Anthony Hall*. Carl will be sharing
his experiences of starting a company (Atomic Object:

is a 10-year-old company of 33 employees, based out of Grand Rapids.

1991-2000, VP Development deltamode (software startup) 2000-2001,
Co-founder & President Atomic Object, 2001-present

Talk Summary: *Starting up: considerations for that first job out of school*
Everyone knows you need a brilliant idea to launch a startup. Fortunately,
everyone is wrong. It's both easier and more difficult than that. The truth
is that you need to get three things right to create a successful company:
idea, execution, and culture. Carl will share his personal experience with
startup companies, lessons learned from Atomic's startup customers, and the
secret to a happy life.
